Wander wisely with Viaggio: Never forget a place again

The new app allows you to save and share the spots that mean the most to you

Those who travel regularly can attest to the fact that between multiple notes, emails, travel books, spreadsheets, apps and various review websites, it is not always easy to recall a specific place that you’re looking to revisit.

Whether you’re recommending a beautiful overlook to your friends for their upcoming camping trip or want to take your partner to an amazing Cajun restaurant in New Orleans you ate at years ago, Viaggio is here to help you remember all of the stops that made your trip special.

Inspired by his love of travel and his own trips with his wife of 30 years, former banker, techie, and entrepreneur Ignacio Garcia noticed that he had a boatload of travel experiences he wanted to revisit and share with those close to him.

Originally hailing from Spain, Garcia has traveled to and lived in places all over the globe, including the United Kingdom and the United States. Realizing that scattered notes and unreliable memories meant that they might miss out on amazing experiences or brag-worthy recommendations from friends, Viaggio was born, with the goal of ensuring that you never miss the chance at an amazing experience again.

Viaggio allows you to record the details of every experience - whether it be the awesome hostel you found when backpacking through the Netherlands, the secret speakeasy you uncovered in New York, or the small vintage boutique you stumbled upon in Paris.

“My wife and I are always talking about food when we’re traveling - ‘Where did you get that? Where are you planning on going next? What did you like? What didn’t you like?’ - and so we always ended up losing a lot of that information. I found an amazing Tuscany-style taverna in New York somewhere, and I say somewhere, because I was never ever able to find it again. I knew I wrote it down somewhere, as if it was sitting on a checklist in the back of my mind, but since it was four or five years after my original visit, we could never locate the place.”

“That’s, more or less, how I started developing my own database. The existing resources that were out there were either too complex or not the right fit for the information we were looking to capture. As soon as I started doing my database I thought, well, if this information is something useful for me, I know other individuals could find it useful as well.”

Viaggio provides the ability for users to record the value of every experience, allowing you to revisit the places you loved, and avoid the places you didn’t.

Assess your experience by taking note of specific dishes, great live music acts, valuable seasonal sales and more. You can easily tailor your recommendations with its filtering system, by entering the type, city, value, or the name of a specific friend with a favorite. Viaggio also provides you with your own customizable “Bucket List,” where you can tag entries or recommendations to explore later.

Viaggio also differs from other apps in that Viaggio is not social media, nor is it public. It’s your information, for your own benefit (and, if you choose that of your closest friends).

With Viaggio, it’s painless to find a great place when making last minute plans or preparing for your next trip. Let your past experiences and feedback from friends be your future compass. That’s right, Viaggio makes it easy!

What’s even more special is that the app is all about community outreach and shows Viaggio’s commitment to the importance of Purpose Driven Entrepreneurship. That is, helping ONGs that focus on kids´ education, both underprivileged and from single mothers, will be top of mind for our team right from the start.
